Aim
The symposium aims at contributing to the development of joint responses to the challenges of young people in relation to transition to autonomy and working life, within a human rights framework.
Objectives
- To bring together different stakeholders to support dialogue and cooperation on the transition to autonomy and working life of young people;
- To share experiences and practices of work at different levels;
- To identify common challenges faced by young people in relation to transition and develop a common understanding on transitions;
- To take stock of the current initiatives, policy measures, results and gaps on transition to autonomy and working life of young people;
- To introduce, associate and inform participants about the work done by the Council of Europe on transition to autonomy and working life of young people;
- To identify responses, tools and mechanisms to respond to challenges faced by young people in transition o autonomy and working life;
- To develop and initiate concrete follow-up actions, including partnerships between stakeholders.
The symposium should result in:
- A better understanding of the challenges faced by young people in relation to transition and develop a common understanding on transitions
- Stock-taking of the work done by the Council of Europe on transition to autonomy and working life of young people;
- The identification of responses, tools and mechanisms for youth policy and youth work responses to challenges faced by young people in transition to autonomy
- To develop and initiate concrete follow-up actions, including partnerships between stakeholders.
- Guidelines and recommendations addressed to the different stakeholders on how to further support the transition to autonomy and working life of young people.
